what a few weeks it has been!

had momma young in town for two weeks!

had brother jeffrey in town for a week!

our poor lil apt had a hostile takeover.

but we all survived and had so much fun.

family time was basically at every restuarant in LA county.

in fact, we even went into santa barbara county!

so, a new set of "fit girl" classes start next week.

it is much needed to work off each restaurant!

oh, tonight is kiki's drinking/housewarming party.

eh, poor lil phil still has to work nights.

...but i'm hopeful one day that will change!

for the second year in a row... i spent my 4th in vegas.

i flew in thursday, brandon picked me up.

we made it to the rio for the night with krys.

friday, i enjoyed ditch at the palms, start to finish.

phil and his momma made it just in time for free beer!

it was hot, but their timing was perfect!

we spent the next few days roaming, drinking, and eating.

didn't win until the bitter end downtown.

hit about $70 on penny slots! not bad!

stayed at the monte carlo for the first time.

minus the hideous bar out front [diablo's]

...it was much nicer than expectations!

simple thoughts.

In what I shared with my family, I felt it appropraite to share what i truly think... my thoughts are simple.

He died of what we have done to him. Not necessarily you and I, but we, the people… American people. His entire life has been a chase… And he spent a majority of his running. So many people… ridiculed everything he stood for, the names they called him, the lies they spread. Those are the people and the media that wouldn’t let him live.

Can you imagine living that life? There’s only so long ONE person can fight against all of those people. Do you blame him? I don’t. I feel sorry for him, and sorry he has had to live his life this way. It shouldn’t have been like this. And it’s so sad that THAT IS how he had to live his life the last 40 years. That’s why he was so frail, that’s why he was in such poor health at such a young age. NO ONE in his life was on his team. NO ONE would go up to bat for him… they were just chasing him too. His poor little heart and body just couldn’t take it anymore. We did this. We made him sick… and now he’s gone and we, the people and the media, should be ashamed of ourselves.

But the only thing I DO know is that I believed in him. I always will. I know what he stood for, I know what he wanted. And it was all so simple… like a child. He is a man who will always be very dear to my heart. At least we know he is finally at peace. No one is chasing him anymore, what a relief that must be.

so i found these photos [meganthompsonphotography]the day after the t-mobile sidekick party on the paramount lot [last thursday]. just haven't had the chance to post the amazingness that is... blink-182! it was a perfect reminder of high school and trl... and i highly enjoyed every second of it.

speaking of photos... i had the chance to shoot sara bareilles this past sunday during her long beach pride festival performance. that was... earth shaking. literally. 5.0 earthquake... pre-show! no photos to post for that yet... i used real film! Fuji Pro800Z to be exact. i "bracketed" the shots at a steady 125-350 shutter, rotating the aperture between 8, 5.6, 4.4, and 2. was that my best option? film photo peeps advise...

this morning, there was a box on my desk. inside was my very own keel's simple diary. have you heard/read about these? reminds me of the wreck this journal series [tag karamea]. i got the white edition... which i can't seem to find online... but it simply states:

i had a relatively boring weekend.
i bailed on yoga... not once... but twice.
blame lova.

i did find some great sales at macy's and bath and body tho.
least of which includes a new pair of coach suede wedge heels!

i enjoyed a few hours with phillip when he wasn't working!
his new nighttime schedule blows in case anyone is curious.
but, tomorrow is our anniversary!
i really can't even wait... so i'll enjoy what i can get!

we had cake and cupcakes at work today!
that always makes one feel a bit better!

what else? oh, i've officially added a membership to the sports club into my daily work week routine. yikes. its not pleasant. but i'll reluctantly admit i kind of like it. lova and i are also going to start doing bikram yoga on a regular basis. that ought to be intense.

im excited to be halfway through my work week.
